WHOI Ocean Encounters: Seafood Security
November 4 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Ocean Encounters, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s online event series, turns to the future of food from the sea. Commercial fishing, aquaculture and the seafood supply chain support an estimated one million livelihoods in the U.S., and billions of people around the world rely on food from the ocean. Scientists and a commercial fisherman talk about the pressures on ocean fisheries and how their work is helping.
The speakers are Matt Charette, director of WHOI Sea Grant; Laura McDonnell, a marine ecologist at WHOI; and Tracy Sylvester, a commercial fisherman. Véronique LaCapra, WHOI’s director of special projects, hosts. The event is a Zoom webinar; register through the Details link.
